The Hotel

David & Tina Gibbins welcome you to our web site and we hope that you find it interesting,  informative and easy to navigate.

We are pleased to be able to tell you about our Hotel, the Ban-Car.

The building is a traditional old Scottish house full of charm and character  which is situated mid-way between Fraserburgh and Peterhead.  It is  within easy  reach of the wonderful granite city of Aberdeen and its International Airport.

Lonmay is a small rural community of just a few residents and of course the Ban-Car Hotel.

We took over the Hotel in February 1999 from David’s father, John Gibbins, who had redecorated and brought it up-to-date for the new Millennium.

Since taking full ownership in 2001 we have continued to upgrade the whole property.  Due to demand an extension was added to the Hotel  in late 2007 to produce further en-suite accommodation.   

Since the new Non Smoking regulation came into existence  we have renovated the garden area to include a covered Gazebo for customer’s outdoor use.

Our aim has always been to create a friendly, family atmosphere where we can offer our guests a relaxing break, free from the stress of the everyday pressures of modern living that most of us experience at some stage in life.
